NFT Charity Project
OFFSIDERS
He runs, and runs, he gets faster and faster, opponents try to bring him down, but he dodges them, he’s nimble and light on his feet, and then he pulls through and shoots, and the round whizzes into the upper right corner to the beguiling delight of the spectators. Everyone rejoices and lies in each other’s arms. But many are not happy. Many find this spectacle, this joy, repugnant. It is the families of the ones who made this all possible. It is them who have experienced the opposite of joy and enthusiasm. These families have lost loved ones. Partners. Siblings. Friends. They are not rejoicing, they are suffering. Every day.

Knowing the Stakes
A sport loved by so many is tainted by the circumstances surrounding this years World Cup in Qatar. 12 years have passed since the Soccer World Cup 2022 location was awarded to Qatar. 12 years during which thousands of guest workers have toiled for the construction of stadiums and infrastructure. How many lost their lives in the process is impossible to say. Either way, we know that the working conditions were resembling modern slavery. Separated from their loved ones, they worked extensive shifts, 7 days a week – for months, even years. One thing is for sure – not all workers returned to their families.

About the Project
Combining Charity and Digital Art
With OFFSIDERS, we have created a project that wants to contribute to finding justice for Qatars migrant workers, their families as well as millions of workers world wide.
The revenue generated by the sale of our 6750 NFTs will be donated to aid organizations that make it their mission to improve working conditions and enforce human rights for migrant workers.
NFT enthusiasts with a big heart will be able to mint the NFT for the duration of the World Cup and contribute to fairness and justice for the ones that have been offside for too long.
Beneficiary Organization
The collected funds will go to MIGRANT-RIGHTS.ORG. Our main criteria were the level of impact that the donation will have, and the availability of campaigns dedicated to the construction workers and their families who have suffered from the World Cup in Qatar. The goal is to ensure that the money goes to the right place, as there is currently no way to donate directly to a fund for the workers in Qatar. Furthermore, we selected an organization that allowed us to donate via the blockchain.
Here, you can see the transaction of the donation we sent to migrant-rights.org -> Etherscan.io

FAQ
You probably have many questions in mind after browsing through the texts. It’s a lot of information to take in. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with our FAQ. And if you still have questions, just use the contact form at the bottom of this page and text us, we love hearing from you.
What happens to my donation?
All collected funds will be entirely donated to one or more non-profit organizations after the conclusion of the World Cup. Currently, there is no direkt fund that compensates construction workers or their families. Therefore, we’ll be donating the money to those organizations committed to supporting the construction workers of the World Cup in Qatar but are also working towards improving working condictions world wide.
Is profit made from the donations?
No, this project is entirely non-profit driven. We will only cover the costs we had to create the website, the NFTs and the smart contract. In case NFT owners choose to re-sell or trade their NFTs, there will be a small royalty of 5% that we would like to use to compensate the many people that supported us for free with this project.
Will you share when you donated the collected amount?
Of course, we will! Everything, meaning the collected donations, the money transfers themselves, transfer statements, any proofs by the organizations that they received the donation, and so on will be shared here. 100% transparency, thanks to the blockchain <3. In the meantime, take a look at the Smart Contract and our Source Code.
I'm sold! What is the price for one NFT?
One NFT costs 0.04 ETH + gas.
Can I also donate in FIAT (USD, Euro)?
The main purpose of this project is to combine the NFT space with charity. Hence, we don’t accept any FIAT donations.
But no worries! We will gladly help you and show you how you can buy an NFT yourself. (Maybe even your first one? That would make us tremendously proud!) Just head over to the contact form and shoot us a message – we will respond as soon as possible to help you out.
Can I trade the NFT after I bought it?
Sure you can. But keep in mind, this project is for charity and not for profit. So there’s no utility other than contributing to a good cause. Therefore, it is not our intention that the NFTs are traded. But it’s up to you.
Why 6750 NFTs?
We chose the amount of NFTS to represent the number of deceased migrant workers involved in the construction of stadiums and infrastructure for the World Cup 2022. However, it is impossible to know the exact number and varius sources cite different body counts. 6750 is based on a report published by The Guardian.
Here is a list of other numbers provided by different sources:
- Amnesty International: 15021 (View Source)
- International Labour Organization: 50 (View Source)
- World Cup organization of Qatar: 37 (View Source)
- Qataris and Infantino: 3 (View Source)
Who created the design for the NFTs?
Glad you’ve asked! The artwork has been done by our wonderful artist Tom from Artcommando. Feel free to pay him a little visit and check out his other work 🙂
Is there any other way to support this project?
Thank you a lot for visiting this page and familiarizing yourself with our initiative. If you’re unable to buy an NFT, you can still support us by spreading the word and sharing this project with your NFT fellows or your relatives. Since we are not investing money in advertisement, we are relying on organic growth to make this cause visible to as many people as possible.
